Creating Community: Part of Smart Solitude’s Vision

February 13th, 2012

A significant part of my vision for Smart Solitude is to provide a place of refuge, support, and challenge for people around the world who love solitude. In listening to your wonderful stories of needing solitude in your life, I am ever committed to this vision.

Not long ago, I came across a kindred blog, The Quiet One. The blog’s author, Marisa, writes with great wit about the truths of introversion. Her blog first caught my eye when I read about her aversion to talking on the phone, something I very much identified with but hadn’t been able to put to words (oh, when I think back to the many misunderstandings I’ve had with friends whom I adore but never call back. I’d much rather visit in person).

I hope you’ll check out The Quiet One, and in the comments let me know what other blogs you find kindred to this one.

Have a wonderfully quiet, peaceful week, everyone.

Just saw this blog–I love its focus. Have you read Introvert Power by Laurie Helgoe? It’s an incredibly affirming look at how awesome introversion is and how totally normal it is to crave alone time.
